ENKI is a modern jazz quartet originally formed in Manchester in 2018. Drawing on a wide range of influences from Alfa Mist to John Zorn, the four young musician focus on spontaneity and synergy. They have presented their original repertoire across the UK (performing regularly at all the top clubs in Manchester for 2 years, and 2 sold out shows in London), and also in Luxembourg and Germany. They have released two EP's with MSC Records.
Individually, the members of the band are active in the Manchester, London, and Luxembourgish jazz scenes. They have been described as ?products of the blossoming South Manchester jazz scene? whilst their ?quiet confidence and fierce grasp of jazz vocabulary took us out into the night feeling refreshed and impressed.? (Hugh Morris)
Their 2020 and 2023 Summer Tours were great successes with sold-out gigs in Germany (Jazz im Brunnenhof) and Luxembourg (Abbey Neimënster, Trifolion Echternach, Castle Bourscheid) alongside smaller casual club dates.
