Fresh from the fryer of the UK?s Deep South, Southern Fried Groove Queens are the new Blues outfit on the block ready to shake things up and remind the world where it all came from. The duo, heavily influenced by Hill Country Blues and who channel an early 2000s Garage Rock feel, consists of frontman Lee Hall on Guitar/Vocals & highly rated upcoming drummer Lucy Piper, daughter of the late British Blues musician & journalist, Julian Piper.
The band recently recorded their debut EP 'That's When The Blues Begins' at Propagation House Studios in Cornwall, a forthcoming selection of self penned tracks following a year of relentless gigging in 2022. The obvious nods to the likes of RL Burnside & John Lee Hooker whilst bringing to the table their own sounds make The Southern Fried Groove Queens an underground one to watch in 2023. With a haunting, infectious and hypnotic sound, this is a band not to be missed.
