Glasgow-based singer and guitarist Alasdair Roberts is touring in support of his most recent
solo album Grief in the Kitchen and Mirth in the Hall.
Acclaimed by Folk Radio UK as ?one of our most talented, important and relevant
songwriters and song-adapters?, Alasdair has released several critically-acclaimed albums via
Drag City Records over the past two decades. These have alternated between collections of
his own idiosyncratic and evocative compositions, and inimitably fresh interpretations of
traditional material. Alasdair will be touring entirely solo, presenting material from the new
album (a collection of twelve traditional songs and ballads from Scotland and beyond) as well
as from his extensive back catalogue in an intimate, stripped-down setting.
In addition to his solo career, Alasdair plays in the groups Furrow Collective and Current 93,
and has toured extensively both in the UK and worldwide, solo and with various musical
companions.
