Dove Jones Blues & Jazz Jam Party At The Spice Of Life Soho Event Title Pic

Description

One-World bluesman Dove Jones and The Connection are musicians, philosophers, and Psychonauts who aim to provide and enable fun, expansive, house-rocking live Blues, Jazz & Soul music events and house parties. We continue our residency at the legendary Spice of Life in Soho, London, Monday nights, where we run an open jam-party, and also other private and public occasions.
Dove Jones our host and the Connection house band, always welcome newbies to the stage and offer them as much support as possible to ensure they enjoy their night in the lime-light.??Musiscians who sign up at the door by 8pm gain free entry, although it is important to note that there is no guarantee they will get to play. Depending on the room on the night, we will choose up to 3 singers, 3 guitarists, and 2 drummers / bassists / horn players, along with the extended list of long-term musicians on the House List. After 8pm, regular door rates (£8 OTD) applies.
The Spice stage accommodates up to 8 musicians at a time with a permanent sound system in its downstairs bar that gives a New Orleans bar feel to the venue.??
With Shaun our sound engineer and permanent full backline setup of PA / drums / keys / amps, we ensure that musicians always sound their best. Shaun monitors the sound system throughout the evening to ensure that you always hit the right note!??
As well as being a listed building, The Spice of Life also has an esteemed musical heritage. In the 1960's and 1970's The Scots Hoose (as it was called then) was a popular venue for folk musicians, and saw many great acts of the time, such as Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, Bert Jansch, The Strawbs and Sandy Denny performing here.??Then in the heyday of punk in the late 70's, The Spice of Life became a regular haunt for many punk musicians and followers, including The Sex Pistols.
In the late 90's a thriving Jazz Club started up at The Spice, and has attracted many top acts, such as Jamie Cullum, Ed Sheeran Soweto Kinch, Darius Brubeck & Daryl Sherman.
