Regarded as an ?engaging talker and magnetic performer? (NARC magazine), Heather Ferrier is an accordionist, clog dancer and composer from Stockport. She has recently released her debut solo concept EP, From the Ashes, a work that intertwines virtuosic alt-accordion composition with lush electronic soundscapes and through its powerful, folk-influenced melodies and bold contemporary arrangements, explores the emotional processes we undergo during times of uncertainty. From the Ashes has been favourably reviewed, as well as being played on BBC radio Newcastle and other grassroot radio stations.

This year sees Heather expanding her solo sound by joining forces with guitarist Alasdair Paul (Pons Aelius, Jordan Aikin and Quercus) and drummer Adam Stapleford (Ponyland, Yes Grasshopper). In their forthcoming EP Engine for the Sound, the trio have created music that is an explosion of groove and melody that embellishes Heather?s signature alt-folk style. The combination of Ferrier, Paul and Stapleford?s medley of influences and genre-bending collaborations transcends the limits of contemporary instrumental folk music, employing Heather?s distinct compositional style to create emotive and upbeat arrangements.

Green Note was founded by two friends and passionate music lovers who wanted to create their ideal place to hang out in London...

Our dream was to create a place where we could share music that we loved – somewhere with a laid back, intimate and friendly atmosphere. Becoming friends in our school days, the seed for our idea was planted many years ago. After lots of hard work, many ups and downs, and learning more than we ever could have imagined along the way, our dream became a reality when Green Note opened its doors in the Summer of 2005. Now in our fourteenth year, we have established a reputation as one of London’s best spots for roots, world and acoustic music, and we’re constantly astonished by the wealth of incredible musicians who grace our stage. We’re really proud of what we have created, and happy to be able to share it with you.
