Something special, not to be missed...
Born and raised in the United Kingdom, Ugandan singer-songwriter and guitarist Daudi Matsiko carefully crafts modern yet reverent folk. Deft, melancholic picking reminiscent of Nick Drake is tempered by contemporary percussion and instrumentation, and Matsiko?s vocals derive their strength from their seeming fragility, a warble in notes that may or may not be intentional.
With every song, his confessional lyrics cut to the marrow. New album 'The King of Misery' was released in January to major critical support, with notable fans including Giles Peterson, Lauren Laverne and Adam Buxton.
Join us hear one of the most unique voices in the UK today, with songs covering topics from mental health to cultural identity. A breath-taking, tear-jerking live performance in the intimate setting of our favourite bookshop, Goldfinch Books
