Description

The John Angus Blues band are based in Cheshire and Lancashire playing original blues rock material. Main stage artists at blues rock venues and festivals, their music is upbeat rocking blues played with passion.
Bernard Doherty of Planet Rock said on his radio show " Every now and then a band comes along that has to be played "
Their first album "It's about Time", an eleven track album was released March 2019 and launched the band into the blues circuit with chart success in the
Independent Blues radio stations across the UK and beyond, since then lots of gigging has grown the bands' fan base and regularly sell out their shows.
In 2020 John recorded a unique cover of Heartbreak Hotel at Prism Studios Hanley and the legendary Sun Studios Memphis
releasing this in March of that year and it was played across most radio stations in the UK and Europe.
In 2022 The Band recorded another great success as an EP with "One More Time" and this one is now distributed in HMV stores.
By the time the band visits Warrington Blues Club they will have recorded a new LP and will be touring this across the UK.
The band are John Angus on lead vocals and guitar, Bram Duckworth on lead guitar, Adam Hutchins on piano and keyboards,
Andy Hurley on drums, Tim Hopkins on Bass and Stewart Speirs on harmonica, all seasoned artists and prolific musicians.

The Gus Glynn Band were formed in Cheshire in the autumn of 2016. They are an eclectic Alt Rock three-piece brewing heady concoctions of Rock, Blues, Post-Punk, New Wave and Classic Soul. Their genre surfing sets draw serious music lovers and casual listeners alike with songs of irony and honesty that only the drive and integrity of a watertight trio can deliver in true Classic Rock n' Roll style.
Live shows are packed with the feats and joys of intuitive musical cohorts who obviously love playing together, while recordings prove its possible to capture those hard hitting emotive vibes in the studio.
Driving rootsy rhythms, soaring melodies, gutsy lyrics, rock out riffs and wailing blues define The Gus Glynn Band as a force to be reckoned with, drawing an ever increasing audience to a growing community of like minded-music lovers.
Debut album Daylight was released September 2018 with the follow-up Echo The Hollow December 2021. The band really honed their sound with this one and developed their flair for dynamic range into hard hitting Classic Rock and Post Punk gems with interludes of raw, yet finely crafted, Blues and Soul.
Paint It Blue was recorded, warts n' all, live in studio with video footage of each of the nine tracks. As the title suggests the album has strong blues vibes but be prepared for rock, psychobilly surf, and even shades of the dreaded prog! This is a band having fun in studio with road tested original songs and the band's first recorded cover, the blues classic, Robert Johnson's Love in Vain.
The third album, Paint It Blue, is on general release from Feb 24 2024.

With a well stocked bar including a good selection of wines and real ales, the Blues Club is increasing its popularity and a friendly and enjoyable evening awaits.

Subject to availability, tickets also £12 contactless/cash on the door.

If you love Blues music this will be a night to remember.
