Old Cinema Launderette is a 55 capacity venue with bar facilities. It has good wheelchair access and facilities. If you have additional needs, please email mrwishywashypresents@gmail.com to discuss.
The venue is compact and is a mix of seating and standing. Please arrive early to get a seat. This cannot, however be guaranteed as its first come, first served.
Doors are generally 7pm, sometimes a little earlier, sometimes a little later depending on how the soundcheck progresses. Please note there is no access to the launderette before doors open. There is a wee bar just up the street, the Hop Knocker where you can get a drink if you arrive before doors open.
Parking is free and on street. Generally, in the evening the parking availability is good.
Music is generally from 7.45pm and finished by 10.30pm but this is only a guide.

A supporter of artists & champion of good music for nearly four decades, the legendary ?Jumpin Hot Club? based around Newcastle Upon Tyne is taking a live musical revue on the road with a troupe of favourite regular performers. It is quite a celebration .They will each play a set & mix & match together
Artists hand-picked to spread the Jumpin Hot Club truth are ?
Martin Stephenson, has been playing the club since it first opened its doors. The local singer-songwriter based in the Highlands was recently featured on Billy Connolly?s BBC documentary, as Billy is a huge fan. Martin?s songs are a glorious mix of the music we love: folk, country, jazz & heartfelt pop His live performances are an exuberant tour-de-force combining heart-in-your-mouth intimacy with playful humour and warm self-deprecation.
He will be accompanied by Rupert Hughes , the highly acclaimed guitarist with bluegrass band ?The Often Herd? who?s wide pool of influences range from old-time mountain music to country rock & psychedelia.
Rob Heron ( & His Tea Pad Orchestra ) has been playing the Jumpin Hot club for over a decade or so. His very own dazzling songs and music are inspired from bygone years, well before he was even born. Western Swing, Blues, Rock & Roll, Cajun, Soul, all done excitingly Heron in his unique easy retro style. He will tour solo
Errant Moose are Phillipa Ogden & Phoebe Stephenson. A relatively new & exciting acoustic duo (fiddle/guitar) They are old time & bluegrass enthusiasts from the two Shields (North & South) & it?s perhaps the new bluegrass sound of Newcastle.
And finally Shipcote is the songwriter in Shipcote & Friends. He writes quirky heartfelt songs, perhaps one of the region's oft- most overlooked artists . ?Shippy? will also join with the fun on String Bass when required. He is the co-founder of The Jumpin Hot Club & is the author of the widely acclaimed ?Jumpin Hot Club- Where Good Music Belongs? book.
