What better way to explore your town through drawing and sketching!
Green Man Gallery Resident Artist Geoff Chilton leads this four-session course on urban sketching introducing the concept of observing and recording the local area. Each workshope is divided into three parts: first, he goes through some of the equipment that might be useful and the basics of sketching outdoors, followed by the best way to approach the drawing of buildings and the urban landscape. The second part is an excursion outside to draw the town in situ. Afterwards, back at the gallery, there will be a chance to show your work (if you want to), discuss some of the challenges of working outdoors and review the aspects of sketching.
Wednesday evenings - 10th April to 1st May 2024 - from 6.30pm to 8.00pm
Cost £50 for all four sessions
You?ll need to bring pencil or pens and a sketchpad with you. They don?t need to be anything fancy (a ball-point pen and an inexpensive drawing pad are fine). Please dress for the weather as you?ll be going outside!
