Doris Brendel Duo & Peter Jones Double Header Little Ember Sessions In Oundle

''Quirky esoteric singer-songwriter with a bluesy twist'' ''Highly Entertaining''
Doris has worked with some notable artists over the years, including Alvin Lee, Gary Moore, Sam Brown, Joe Brown and Herbie Flowers, and has toured extensively with Marillion as well as Nils Lofgren, John Farnham and Steve Marriott. She was also invited to sing with Pink Floyd on the Great Gig in the Sky tour, but had to decline due to already-contracted tour commitments. She recently sang backing vocals on Fish?s acclaimed album ?Weltschmerz?.

Together with Lee Dunham they have just released their 5th studio album ?Pigs Might Fly?, but Brendel has an incredible 19 albums to her name, not counting features and session work. These include 5 ?Acoustic? albums recorded between 2019-2023 and 3 live albums, as well as some back catalogue releases.

As well as playing some shows with their band, Brendel and Dunham have been playing a number of live and unplugged acoustic shows full of stories, fun and great music.

Peter Jones' multi-instrumental skills range from vocals to keyboards, piano, guitar, bass, saxophone, clarinet, recorder, whistles, and various percussion instruments. Peter returns to Oundle for the fourth time and his second in a Little Ember Session.

Jones lost his sight at 15 months due to retinoblastoma, a form of cancer that attacks the light sensing portion of the eyes. He took to music learning his variety of instruments. He first came to prominence on the TV show Star for a Night in 2001, performing with his friend Emma Paine. The two teamed up again as 2 to Go in the first season of the TV series The X Facto with a national tour following suit.

Jones has recorded and produced his own original music under various names including Tiger Moth Tales. He also works with the band Red Bazar and has recorded with the Colin Tench Project. He performed on the 2015 remake of Spectral Mornings. In 2016 he was selected to join the band Camel, replacing Guy LeBlanc who had just died after a long bout with kidney cancer and temporary replacement Ton Scherpenzeel.

Since 2015, Peter has also presented a bi-weekly radio show on Progzilla Radio, entitled Tales from the Tiger Moth.

Tickets are set at £15 in advance and £17.50 on the door.
