Description
'LE GRAND RETURN' A Comedy Drama by Alan Stockdill. Supported by the brilliant SADIE singing war time song classics.
It?s 1994 and the 50th anniversary of D-Day looms. Tommy, Alf and Edwin are incarcerated in Coldrick Nursing Home, and, despite his ever-worsening heart condition, D-Day veteran Tommy is determined to break out and re-join his old comrades on the Normandy beaches. But how will he and his pals escape and what will happen along the way? More to the point, what will happen if they get there?
Inspired by a true story, this charming, gentle comedy about fun, friendship, bravery, remembrance, war and peace will make you laugh and cry in equal measure.
With a cast of three male actors and one female actor (who plays a number of characters: Matron, Belgian Customs Officer and Yvette Dubois) ?Le Grand Return? has delighted audiences all across the UK since it was first performed in 2015, amongst other accolades the play won ?Best New Writing? award at the 2015 Greater Manchester Fringe.
