This will be an all day ride of just over 45 miles mainly following really good trails and some minor roads. Over the day there is 1800 ft of ascent and descent.
We start out on the Chesterfield canal path to Staveley, around Poolsbrook and out on the Clowne Greenway to Clowne and Creswell, before following the Archeological Trail to Pleasley Pit. Then we cycle on to join the Rowthorne Trail and a short half mile busy A road section downhill onto the Stockley Trail and back via Poolsbrook, Westwood and Crow Lane to Chesterfield.
This is a day which is 90 per cent off road on good hard packed trails. There are quite a few ups and downs but the trails and tracks are mostly very well surfaced. Suitable for confident cyclists and those able to cycle 45 miles at a steady moderate pace.
Under 16s with an adult please.
Please bring your own food and drink and a small bike repair kit in case of issues. We will stop regularly for refreshment and will do our best to help with any bike issues
