Description

Worthing Techno Militia are back at Coast for the Summer Solstice with a longer format party across 2 floors of vinyl only heat...and we'll be bringing some friends along to join us!

From 4pm we'll be rocking the Coast terrace with deeper vibes to ease you into the night as the sun slowly sets, whilst downstairs in the club expect the usual hi-tek party business.

As well as multiple sets from Worthing Techno Militia over the course of the day, the following deck technicians will also be bringing it.

Alex Downey
?There?s only a handful of dj?s I?ve ever heard who are naturally gifted and Alex Downey is one of them? says techno don Ben Sims, at whose Split & Balance nights Alex has regularly played over the years.

Based in Brighton, Alex?s love of techno was born after seeing the likes of Dave Clarke, Derrick May & Richie Hawtin at Brighton?s Zap club in the early-mid ?90?s & was heavily influenced by his regular
pilgrimages to the legendary LOST parties, where Jeff Mills became a major influence on his musical perspective & approach to dj-ing.

Alex has been an ardent supporter of quality underground electronic music over the decades, was a key figure behind the counter at the legendary Covert records in Brighton & has amassed a vast
collection of vinyl covering the entire techno spectrum & beyond. His inventive, unrestricted & highly skilled sets have earned him a fearsome reputation amongst the global electronic community. He has been a resident at Freerotation and Houghton festivals since their inception & has been invited to play at hundreds of parties & festivals worldwide, including Labyrinth in Japan, Tresor in Berlin & BLOC festival, along with many others too numerous to mention.

We?re excited to be hosting Alex, who will no doubt be on his usual dancefloor-destroying form on the night.

Bjika (Live)
Hailing from the Garden of England, Bjika is a creative sound designer embracing the best of analogue and digital, exploring the ethereal nature of music and the delicious liquid wash of effects.

Merging the ambience of 90?s progressive house with the rawness of Detroit techno was his inspiration for blending styles. His concept of merging styles has since widened to encompass deep house and dub techno. With such varied influences and unconstrained creativity, his output is diverse. When asked what he called his style, he replied ?I don?t know - I just write, I just let the music come out?.

Bjika?s music is an emotional release, with influences from a broad spectrum of electronic styles, the result is a sound that merges and unites to form something both refreshing and reminiscent. There is a deepness and an ambience of both deep house and atmospheric dnb, with the structure and subtle complexity found in Detroit techno and dub techno.

We're definitely excited to bring you some Real LIVE Techno to the party this time.

DJ Bunnyhausen
Catherine (aka DJ Bunnyhausen) has helped warm up our last 2 Coast parties and was so good at it, we had to ask her back!

Resident DJ at Club Kosmische, London?s fabled krautrock and electronica club. She records as Xylitol for Planet Mu and plays rediscovered Eastern European electronic music as one half of Slav to the Rhythm for Repeater Radio.

Shoreham303
Little is known of this mysterious DJ - other than possibly hailing from Shoreham and being partial to the sounds of a 303. Whether they be man or machine, we can tell you that Shoreham303 is the owner of one of the most diverse and eclectic vinyl collections on the South coast and will be in attendance with some of that collection for the purpose of playing it. Boom!

So thats the crew. Make sure you get down early for many hours of deep underground delights and lots of dancing in what will no doubt be a literal scorcher (when has the British summer ever let us down before!). The kitchen will be open until early evening so grab a drink, some food and join us on the terrace from 4pm for a real summer festival party atmosphere with the tunes you know only we can bring!
