"My Pollera, My Story" workshop explores the profound symbolism and beauty embodied in the Pollera: A traditional Andean decorated skirt. Participants explore decorative symbols, ranging from geometric patterns to botanical elements, uncovering deeper meanings within.
A writing exercise will help us to discover our personal designs and generate movement around migration narratives.
Once they finish their Polleras participants will explore movements inspired by the experience of wearing the skirts, creating a collective Pollera dance! Intertwining design and movement to narrate their own immigrant experiences.
