A special Saturday night at Jamboree in celebration of Serge Gainsbourg - a wild journey through the life of one of the 20th century's standout cultural icons led by Jean de Talhouët featuring the 'Les Poinçonneurs' crew of handpicked musicians.
Aside from having earned status as one of the world's most revered and influential songwriters, Gainsbourg was also a painter, actor, filmmaker, screenwriter, director, novelist, poet, and composer. He is a true example of the renaissance man; a multi-talented cultural polymath whose life was filled with both odd coincidence and calculated career savvy.
Tonight's sextet includes some of London's most in demand musicians, with the gifted French singer-songwriter Garance Louis (Garance and the Mithochondries, Chewy She) at the helm. Completing the line-up are the sought-after jazz musicians Magnus Pickering on trumpet, Dorian Ford on keys, Huw V Williams on double and electric bass and David Dyson on drums.
Jamboree is a grass-roots world music venue and bar hosting Folk, Blues, Americana, Celtic, Mediterranean, Eastern, European, GypsyPunk and Old Time Jazz!
Jamboree is back with a POP-UP adventure in a different venue in Limehouse from December 1st!
