Join Far Cry Acapella and award-winning performance poet, Rose Condo, for an inspiring evening of music and words in the cultural setting of the North Light Gallery. The event will raise funds for IASK (Immigration and Asylum Support Kirklees).
Far Cry will be singing their usual eclectic mix of songs from around the world - a collection ofsongs of summer, sanctuary and welcome - all in glorious harmony. All complimented by Rose Condo?s warmth, humour, honesty and thought-provoking poems.
Far Cry is a Huddersfield-based mixed acapella group singing songs from a range of different cultures ? all taught by ear and led by Musical Director Jenny Goodman. The end result is a unique mix of great singing with stunning, unusual harmonies and impressive versatility.
Rose Condo is a Canadian poet and educator. Rose has won poetry slams across the UK, and she performs her work nationally and internationally. Rose has written and toured three solo shows: The Geography of Me (Spoken Word Award, 2021 Buxton Fringe), The Empathy Experiment (Best Spoken Word Show, 2019 Greater Manchester Fringe), and How to Starve an Artist (Runner Up Best Spoken Word Show, 2017 Saboteur Awards).
A café and bar available on the night. There will also be a raffle with a range of prizes donated by businesses throughout the Holme Valley.
