A modern take on vintage 70s soul funk, Crowd Company, is one of the UK's top original soul funk bands. The 8-piece band is known for rich songwriting combined with catchy hooks, in-the-pocket grooves, and virtuoso musicianship and features three outstanding soulful vocalists.
Crowd Company's fourth and highly acclaimed latest album 'Lowdown' was recorded in Millers Falls, USA, produced by Alan Evans of Soulive and released on the Vintage League Music label. It featured heavily on the BBC Radio 6 Craig Charles Show and was one of Craig's 'Top Picks of the Year'.
They recently released 'You Ain't Ready, a single remixed by DJ Smoove (Smoove & Turrell) to great acclaim.
Crowd Company are known for dynamic live performances. As well as frequently selling out venues the band have also toured with the likes of Soulive, The Meters' George Porter Jr, Daptone Records' Saun & Starr, and The Monophonics.

Since 2005, The Donkey has not only built a reputation as an intimate venue, with a live-wire atmosphere, but for presenting low-key gigs by major name acts. Both landlord Warren’s legendary bonhomie and promoter Gaz Birtles knowledge of the music business are evident in the care and love shown to all aspects of this independent establishment. It’s an approach that above anything else treats both musicians and customers alike as friends.
