Buffering: A Stand Up Comedy Night presents a double work in progress show from professional silly John Luke Roberts and "2 Muslim 2 Furious: Mecca Drift" (2M2F) by Aisha Amanduri & Hasan Al-Habib in Elephant Castle.
John-Luke Roberts is an artist, writer, comedian and actor. In 2023, The Telegraph named him one of the 50 best comedians of the 21st Century.
He?s created and performed 10 critically acclaimed solo shows, which he?s taken to the Edinburgh Fringe and around the world ? from Norway to Australia. As a director and dramaturg he works with a number of comics, including Myra Dubois, Josh Glanc and Deborah Frances-White.
John-Luke?s writing has featured across TV and Radio ? including co-writing the sitcom Bull, and the Audio reboot of The Goodies, both with Gareth Gwynn.
His podcast Sound Heap won the BBC Audio Drama Award for Best Sketch comedy, and you can hear it on the Maximum Fun network.
"2 Muslim 2 Furious: Mecca Drift" (2M2F) was written before Aisha and Hasan realised its impact on their US visa applications.
So their ?dream of conquering America? is on hold (how were those visas ever rejected?!).
But these ethnically-challenged Muslims also have a UK-based goal - smashing stereotypes!
Aisha and Hasan prove that not all Muslims are terrorists or perform useful jobs, like doctors, nurses or playing for Liverpool FC.
But just try to name a funnier Kazakh-Iraqi double act? we?ll wait!
2M2F is a work-in-progress stand-up comedy show from:
?Birmingham Comedy Festival Breaking Talent Award 2023? winner Hasan Al-Habib and
?Funny Women One-To-Watch 2023? Aisha Amanduri
?Deliciously funny? - The Guardian (no surprise they're fans ?)
?Clever, edgy and unexpected? - Kemah Bob (BBC?s ?Richard Osman's House of Games?, ?FOC it up? podcast)
?Super talented? - Mae Martin (Channel 4?s Taskmaster, Netflix?s Feel Good)
"he?ll make a million doing this" - Jamali Maddix (BBC?s Never Mind The Buzzcocks)
?Very good? - Paul Sinha (ITV?s The Chase)
?F***ing brilliant? - Limmy (BBC 2?s Limmy?s Homemade Show)
Hosted by:
Marc Salmon - offbeat stand up, songwriting funnyman and improviser. Taking a wry and often surreal look at life, Marc interweaves self-deprecating stories with silly songs and physical comedy. Marc is a unique up and coming act producing lots of big stupid laughs.
'Naturally funny' (Mark Simmons)
'A very f***ing funny dude' (Mike O-T, Co-Founder The Free Association)
This is a very intimate venue and tickets will set out quick so grab them whilst you can!!!

This building has been keeping people refreshed since 1856. In its everlasting pursuit to serve drinks, this indestructible piece of architecture survived two bombings in the Blitz of WWII.
In August 2016 Ron Howard lookalike (Matt), speccy little git (Andy) and Jesus impersonator (Sean) got the keys to the premises and closed up shop for a refurb. Like an ugly caterpillar metamorphosing into a beautiful butterfly the pub reopened in September as the Spit and Sawdust, a traditional London Boozer with a contemporary twist.
A lot of blood sweat and tears went into this refurb; I might add. We did everything ourselves, me (Matt), Andy, Sean and a building enigma known only as Huggy. Me and Andy lost about five stone between us, Huggy almost had a melt down and Sean… well Sean actually managed to remain pretty cool throughout, tosser.
Anyways we opened, just, and have been building blocks ever since. Our Beer selection kicks the s**t out of most, boasting the biggest in Elephant and Castle with 20 lines in total and a heavy focus on the Craft Beer market. Keeping things craft and independent we also offer different Street Food Pop Ups at the weekend, as well as Pie Minister – who are now here permanently (with a wide selection of delicious pies:-)!
