Chisara Agor is an interdisciplinary artist from Peckham, London. A BBC Introducing London featured artist and award-winning composer, producer and writer. Agor?s sound combines elements of afro-folk, soul, pop, rock and jazz, creating a sound and unconventional arrangements that are truly their own. A graduate of Philosophy and Languages and with a strong music, dance and performance background, Chisara?s work reaches into meaning; from the politics of visibility, to exploring love, refuge and solidarity.
Last summer saw Agor record two live tracks from her most recent project Shadows and Searchlights at the historic BBC Maida Vale Studios, as well as showcasing her magnetic energy and live band set up at FutureTense at Southbank Centre and The national Theatre River Stage Festival.
For Chisara's performance at Jazzlive they will be playing original reimagined material from their EP, Shadows and Searchlights as well as Chisara's favourite jazz and contemporary covers, and music from their musical The Garden which was developed in part at the National Theatre New Work Studio and Birmingham Hippodrome.
