Description

The SOAS Ceilidh Band is based at the School of Oriental and African Studies. It has students from other universities in London, and musicians from the community. The band holds its own ceilidhs, with callers to explain the dances.

The band is committed to cultural-political action, and plays at protests and picket lines. It also tours internationally, as part of its commitment to ?Ceilidh beyond Borders? (Paris, Venice and Istanbul in 2023-24). But it's not all politics, it's also about great music and having a good time.

We're delighted to welcome the band to Ashburton Arts Centre on its short Devon tour, for a night of fun! There'll be some called dancing, plus time to do your own thing, or sit and have a drink and a chat, and listen to the music.
