We are excited to welcome the award winning singer and squeezebox player, Cohen Braithwaite Kilcoyne. Cohen will be presenting his new show which explores the connection between the English folksong canon and the musical traditions of the Caribbean and Black America, shining light on to little-known African American and Caribbean reworkings of classic English folksongs. Expect ancient ballads, songs of love and sorrow, and joyous island melodies interspersed with informative historical background on this fascinating repertoire.
Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne is at the forefront of his generation of English folk musicians as both a powerful and commanding singer and a masterful player of the Anglo concertina and melodeon.
Since bursting onto the scene in his teens, Cohen has amassed a string of awards and nominations, including a nomination for the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Horizon Award in 2018, and has toured extensively across the UK and abroad, both as a soloist and with the much-loved energetic trio Granny?s Attic.
This will be a great night so get your tickets early!
