On Friday October 4th we welcome The Cosimo Matassa Project to Jamboree, bringing their ace 1940s and '50s rhythm'n'blues, country and folk!
The band conjure the unique rhythm?n?blues flavours that emerged from New Orleans in the late 1940s and early 1950s. At the core of the band are pianist and arranger Al Dunn (Loudon Wainwright / Richard Thompson) and singer and double bassist Dai Price (Dai & The Ramblers). Playing tunes by well-known artists from that era such as Fats Domino and Big Joe Turner, the band also like to unearth lesser-known gems by the likes of Clarence ?Frogman? Henry, Dave Bartholomew and Tami Lynn, as well as throwing in a few of their original songs.
Jamboree food option: Our ?Arepatoire? kitchen is open from 6pm serving a delicious mix of Italian/Colombian food for you to enjoy a pre-gig meal/snack if you wish!
Jamboree is a grass-roots world music venue and bar hosting Folk, Blues, Americana, Celtic, Mediterranean, Eastern, European, GypsyPunk and Old Time Jazz!
Jamboree is back with a POP-UP adventure in a different venue in Limehouse from December 1st!
