Over the last two decades fans around the world watched Ranking Roger - one of the UK's most beloved frontmen - performing with his son - Ranking Jnr by his side, keep The Beat alive! The pairing was nothing short of electric. And the results on record as equally dynamite! A fact born out in the BBC 6 music adding the Ranking Jnr/Ranking Roger penned - Side To Side, to their A playlist.

And now, Ranking Jnr follows in his father's footsteps as the lead singer... carrying The Beat's flag into a new era with a turbo-charged live set guaranteed to raise any roof. With new material on the horizon, and sold-out shows around the world, The Beat's legacy is in phenomenal hands!

SUB89 is Reading’s best underground club and live music venue. Opening in October 2009 with a live show from Chase and Status, the venue has gone from strength to strength covering all aspects of live music, comedy and clubnights.

Some of the acts to grace the SUB89 stage are Gary Numan, 2manydj’s, Babyshambles, Bad Manners, Napalm Death, Subfocus, DJ Fresh, Buzzcocks, New Model Army, Nero, Adam Ant, The Beat, Ed Sheeran, Skindred and many more.

The venue is able to accommodate a wide range of international touring acts as well as striving to support the fantastic local music scene that Reading has to offer.
