Description
'The Ballad of the Underwater Daughter? is a strange sort of odyssey. A woozy universe of messy minds and monstrously fishy metaphors. Overloaded with puppets, props and machines, it is the latest production from Leeds' own the OBJECTproject.
It?s about the messy lives that many people live and how they cope (or, quite often, don?t cope!). It?s murky, strange, bleakly hilarious and exquisitely rendered. The stage is an animated installation. At the end of the show the audience are invited to view the mechanical set up close and talk to the performers. It?s a bit like a post- show interval, or a private viewing.
This show is also the culmination of an Arts Council Project which sought to explore a crossover between puppet theatre and art gallery exhibition.
