Barnes is holding a secret. This leafy district in South West London, was absolutely pivotal to the creation of the Football Association and modern day football as we know it.

Come along and hear how the FA was setup, learn about the founding father of the FA and how Barnes was so central to sporting life in the 19th century.

You will meet your host at the White Hart pub in Barnes (Barnes Bridge station is 5 minutes walk away) and finish at the Red Lion pub in Barnes (Barnes station is 15 minutes walk away.) The tour takes 90 mins-2 hours. Your host will be we wearing a tweed flat cap to help identify him and the tour starts at 11.30 sharp.

No particularly strenuous terrain although it does involve crossing a bridge that is currently only accessible by stairs.
