A Saturday night of Son Jarocho fusion, traditional Mexican sounds, Caribbean dancing grooves and Spanish rumba flirt at Jamboree with the brilliant Chapulines!
Ghent-based Latin/folk band Chapulines bring ample Mexican flavours in a lively fusion of cultures and genres. Beginning with the Mexican 'son jarocho' folk music, the band is further inspired by Caribbean rhythms and sounds such as Cumbia, Merengue, Punta GarÃfuna, Son Cubano and Spanish Rumba. With musicians from Mexico, Spain, Cuba and Belgium, the band presents and acoustic, powerful and danceable variety of their own compositions and idiosyncratic interpretations of traditional music.
