Christmas Carol Concert with Riverside Brass
at
St Nicholas' Church
Beverley
19:00
Description
The Band
Riverside Brass, a talented local brass ensemble, was formed in 2015. The band consists of ten brass players and percussion, and was the concept of founder member Dixon Laing (flugal and trumpet 4). Alongside Dixon there are two further founder members still playing with the ensemble, Dan Hatton (trumpet 3) and Liz Hatton (euphonium).
This Concert
The ensemble presents a family fun-filled concert of Christmas music of varying styles, including some audience participation via singing some Sheffield Carols. ?Sheffield Carols? is a long-standing tradition of carol singing in local venues around Sheffield and Derbyshire in the run up to Christmas. There will be a mixture of known tunes set to different lyrics and known lyrics set to different tunes.
Music will be available on the night. The beauty of singing Sheffield Carols is the opportunity it gives to sing either the melody, or join in with a harmony line of your choice!
All of this in the atmospheric setting of St Nicholas', Beverley where the team always extend a warm welcome.
There will be an interval with a licensed bar serving a range of alcoholic and soft drinks
