Description

Queer as Punk presents Sister Ghost from Northern Ireland, with local support from The Farting Suffragettes, and CERAZETTE! Edinburgh date of Sister Ghost's tour to showcase their new album Beyond the Water, released 31 October 2024.

Sister Ghost
Derry based artist Shannon Delores O'Neill is Sister Ghost. Playing noisy, spectral art-rock with a pop & literary heart, Sister Ghost marshals a diverse set of influences in a singular way - from the 'Seattle sound' to the likes of Sonic Youth, Veruca Salt, Patti Smith and Kate Bush. Sister Ghost built a reputation as one of Northern Ireland?s most rousing new rock bands, winning Best Live Act at the NI Music Prize in 2019. O?Neill has also been recognised for mentoring and encouraging other female and gender expansive musicians to perform in the Northern Irish scene, having set up the Girls Rock! NI chapter in 2016. Sister Ghost has had press in The Guardian, garnered high profile support slots with the likes of We Are Scientists, Ratboys, Shellac, Pussy Riot, Fontaines DC & more, as well as airplay on KEXP, BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 1.

?Feels authentic, from the era of Pixies, Breeders and Hole. Brilliant music, beautifully made.? - Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music

?Absolutely massive!? - Jack Saunders, BBC Radio 1

?Big guitar hooks! I?m obsessed!? - Gemma Bradley, BBC Radio 1

The Farting Suffragettes
Riotous, angry and unashamed, The Farting Suffragettes are four Edinburgh pals pumping out riot-grrrl inspired feminist tunes since 2017. Sit back, strap on and allow The Farting Suffragettes to take you on a musical rampage, with a set you won?t forget featuring tales of fake teeth, pubic-hair-fearing-fellows and unionised warlocks.

?A band of just such riotous joy and righteous take-no-bullshit attitude with a buttload of tunes that have been known to make you sweat and dance in uncontrollable amounts? ? Leith Depot, Edinburgh

CERAZETTE!
Cerazette! Is a horror funky-punk band who crash landed from outer space! Evil Smith, their alien lead singer, screams about how much she hates having to follow earth?s SILLY! ARBITRARY! OPPRESSIVE! RULES!

Described as ?EXPLOSIVE!? and ?scary in all the right ways? Cerazette! Is an emotional expression of how women and queer people are often treated in society. Do you dare to dance along??

£10 standard / £8 concessions on the door.
