In 2023, Ella Bruccoleri and her pals all met on the dance floor at the Trades Hall. Inspired by the diverse and energetic sounds of the many bands and artists we host at the club, and a love for the likes of Angel Olsen, Nancy Sinatra, Lucinda Williams and Stevie Nicks, these kindred spirits all screamed in unison ?LETS FORM A BAND?! And thus, Marry Me Emilie was born.

Launching their debut EP, ?the distance makes the mountains blue? is an entirely bedroom-produced project, named after the Icelandic expression ?distance makes mountains seem more blue and men seem more mighty?.

It is about the journey of deliberation, parting and choosing to come back home and the bittersweetness of that decision. It is about a woman?s desire for freedom and the longing for the wild west.

Walthamstow Trades Hall are incredibly proud to have played a small part in Marry Me Emilie?s inception, and welcome them to perform at the club for the very first time.
