Description
SOCIAL SECURITY
The first band to have a record released on Heartbeat, and a true DIY producion - a four track EP recorded live in the drummers' basement. Hailed as charming rustic by John Peel, the band also had tracks on the legendary Avon Calling releases. They were one of the hardest working live acts around, easily recognisable by the unique sound of the Vox Teardrop guitar.. Now back and describing themselves as 'The living heart of 1977 in a modern package.'
ASBO DEREK
Asbo Derek's sound is classic garage punk rock and they have a lot of (important) message songs but all have great choruses to join in with and many come with a running gag and punchline. There are songs about demanding outmoded hairstyles, going to see shit bands when you?re stoned (the bouncy ?On The Night That James Were Excellent?) and odious middle-class couples slumming it on a bendy bus around town.
