The Arlenes rose to prominence in the UK?s burgeoning new country scene in the late 90s, tapping into the growing popularity of Americana artists making waves across the Atlantic. We are thrilled to welcome them to our kitchen gig, joined by the legendary BJ Cole for an unforgettable night of music.

In a career spanning nearly six decades, BJ Cole has earned a reputation as a trailblazer on the pedal steel guitar. His innovative approach has crossed genres, redefining what the instrument can do. BJ?s iconic performance on Elton John?s classic Tiny Dancer cemented his status as the go-to pedal steel player for major artists and bands seeking his distinct sound.

Singer-songwriter Big Steve Arlene made his musical debut in the early 90s with A-La-Tex, a hard-rocking country band that released the album Rough ?N? Tumble in 1994 before disbanding. Steve continued to perform as a solo artist on London?s roots scene, where he met his future wife, Stephanie Arlene. Stephanie, originally from Los Angeles, began her music career in the mid-80s as a backing vocalist for punk band the Flesheaters. After relocating to England, she temporarily left music to work in a gentleman?s outfitters but was inspired to return to singing after meeting Steve.

The couple married in 1998, releasing their debut mini-album the following year. In 2002, they released Stuck On Love, hailed as one of the finest UK country albums in years. A standout track, Lonely Won?t Leave Me Alone, co-written with Mike Daly (formerly of Whiskeytown), features Stephanie?s only lead vocal on the record.
