Although most people know me as a dyed-in-the-wool David Bowie fan (and, yes, I AM pretty obsessed with him), I actually have pretty wide musical taste: jazz, rock, grunge, rockabilly, rock ?n? roll, disco, folk, punk, indie? anyway, I like a lot of different stuff.

May 10th 2025 will see me doing something I?ve wanted to do for the longest time, that is spend an evening performing a selection of stuff by some of my favourite singer/songwriters and some by artists I know little about, but just LOVE a particular track... And I?m happy to be sharing the stage with a few of the many talented musicians and singers who I?ve had the pleasure to know and/or work with over the 50 years I?ve been playing live.

Definitely NOT an ego trip, just a joyous celebration of some great music and a chance to watch some truly great musicians going about their business. I?ll announce my co-conspirators over the coming months ? I?m sure you won?t be disappointed.

We?ll be performing songs by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Prefab Sprout, Aztec Camera, David Bowie (yes, two or three of his!), Tom Waits, Travis, Crowded House, Morrissey, The (Dixie) Chicks, Lloyd Cole & The Commotions? and a few by, shall we say, lesser-known artistes.

I really hope you?ll join me at Colchester?s finest little venue, upstairs at the Three Wise Monkeys on May 10th ? we?re going to have a beautiful evening together.
