Paul looks at the bittersweet experience of becoming a supermarket fan. This is the tale of a socially isolated sixth former who finds solace in the aisles of the 90s and 00s store Somerfield, specifically the Stretford branch, and gets to know the staff, obsesses over new products and memorises the store call out codes. This joy soon turns heartache when his beloved branch closes. Featuring raw and unedited cassette audio from 2006, the show looks at the stages of the little known 'Supermarket Grief'. A must for anyone who has ever cried when their favourite supermarket closed down.
