Melos Kalpa formed in 2019 around the vision of Tom Relleen; a quintet of musicians employing unconventional instruments and strategies to make music that exists somewhere at the intersection of improvisation, minimalism and sublimated reverie.
Musicians Agathe Max (Abstract Concrete, Papivores, These Towns), Jem Doulton (Thurston Moore Group, Too Many Things), David John Morris (Red River Dialect) perform via the conduit of producer Marta Salogni?s intricate tape preparations, which create rich textures, delays and distortions of their unique instrumental palette (marimba, vibraphone, violin, guitar, mandolin, Buchla Music Easel and more).
The Silver Field is a sound world of Coral Rose Kindred-Boothby. Voice, tapes, bass, samples, synthesis, strings, reeds, drums, small sounds, big sounds, sunlight, moonlight, a lot of water.
Using her modular synthesiser and other self-built electronic instruments, she weaves together song-soundscapes, creating a rich and dream-like tapestry of sound that draws from folk music tradition, experimental electronics and psychedelia.

The Old Church stands as a significant cultural asset within Stoke Newington, a not-for-profit arts and music venue that uniquely preserves London's only surviving Elizabethan church. Its enduring presence, dating back to 1563, establishes it as a profound historical landmark and a vibrant hub for local and national events.
Within its historic walls, the atmosphere is one of quiet reverence blended with contemporary energy. The cool air, carrying faint echoes of centuries past, settles beneath soaring ceilings, while natural light filters through stained glass, casting a soft, shifting glow across the antique carved furniture.
Practical considerations are well-addressed, with step-free access ensuring broad participation, complemented by accessible toilet facilities. An enclosed graveyard offers a tranquil outdoor space, and a licensed bar is available for refreshments during events.
The venue hosts a diverse programme, encompassing a wide spectrum of musical performances from classical to contemporary, alongside various arts, dance, and spoken word events. It also serves as a space for community wellness activities and workshops, reflecting its commitment beyond commercial enterprise.
