Two of the UK?s most compelling singer-songwriters, Our Man in the Field (Alex Ellis) and Matt Owens (founding member of Noah and The Whale), join forces for a special double-headliner tour. Each night, the pair will perform individual sets showcasing their finest work, followed by a collaborative performance blending their distinctive styles into something truly unforgettable.
Our Man in the Field has been hailed as ?a voice full of soul and longing? (Americana UK), drawing comparisons to the likes of Ray LaMontagne and Damien Rice. After a whirlwind year performing at major festivals such as Glastonbury, Red Rooster, and Maverick, as well as supporting The Delines and Chuck Prophet on tour, Alex Ellis continues to captivate audiences with his heartfelt storytelling and mesmerising vocals. With his highly anticipated third album set to be recorded at Mark Knopfler?s British Grove studio under the guidance of producer Guy Fletcher, 2025 promises to be a landmark year.
Matt Owens brings a wealth of experience and charm, having co-founded the chart-topping band Noah and The Whale and later carving out a successful solo career. Described as "one of the UK's best Americana voices" (RnR Magazine), his solo albums have been lauded for their raw honesty and evocative songwriting. A master storyteller with a knack for engaging audiences, Owens has earned praise for his ?rousing and deeply moving? performances (Folk Radio UK).

By day our Cafe serves delicious home-cooked food, Fairly Traded coffee & tea and homemade cakes & pastries. All with a nod to local and ethical sourcing. We cater for Vegetarians, Vegans and dietary issues, just ask if you need anything not catered for on our menus. We also have a Delicatessen serving our own home-cooked food daily.
On Sunday to Thursday evenings we host the best acoustic music in the City, specialising in Folk, Roots and Americana.
On Friday and Saturday evenings the Cafe is available for private functions, weddings and parties, please call or email for more details.
