Chris Paton renowned genealogist has ample experience in enabling others to discover their Irish forebears.

In 1848 during the height of the great hunger, the average weekly inflow of Irish into Glasgow was estimated at over 1000. In 1851 almost 29% of all Irish migrants settled in Glasgow whilst 35.8% of the Coatbridge population were Irish born. In Airdrie 1861, Irish born was recorded as 18.45%

Originally from Carrickfergus, Co. Antrim, Chris Paton lives in Ayrshire, where he works as a professional genealogist. A holder of a Postgraduate Diploma in Genealogical Studies from the University of Strathclyde, Chris is an author, tutor and lecturer specialising in Scottish and Irish research, and teaches Scottish and Irish genealogy courses online via www.pharostutors.com.
