In 2024 local author Martin Dorey set off, towing surfboards, to cycle to Portugal, guided by the first generation of surfers and their tales of the golden days of surfing. During his research he uncovered a 'lost' Super 8 film of Bude surfers discovering a wave in the Canaries that has since been destroyed by development.
This is the story of Martin's book, Bude's first generation surfers and the World Premiere of John Cutts' reedited Super 8. Also, 'Vicko: The Movie'.
