Dave Sutherland brings his end of year concert to the magnificent Blackheath Halls, London. Dave grew up in Greenwich and one of his first ever gigs was in the pub across the road from Blackheath Halls. 30 years later, he?s absolutely delighted to cross that road to bring his award-winning show to the beautiful Hearn Recital Room.
Dave's very special guests are the legendary Jackie McAuley and Rod Demick who'll be opening the show.

Dave Sutherland is a London based Americana singer-songwriter with nudges towards the Country Music genre. So much so, he was awarded 'UK Male Country Singer of the Year' at The UK Country Music Awards 2024. An accomplished performer filled with raw energy and emotion, Dave?s music speaks of life, love and London with the eye of an artist and the ear of a poet. His fingerstyle guitar, melodic vocal and London charm have cemented his place amongst the aristocracy of UK Americana artists.
His latest album ?Last Drop of Empty? was produced by the American producer Stacy Parrish who won a number of Grammy Awards for his work with T Bone Burnett, Alison Krauss and Robert Plant on Raising Sand, and Jefferson Airplane/Hot Tuna?s Jack Casady who also plays bass on the album. It was released to worldwide critical acclaim and produced two Top 3 singles. It was also voted ?Runner Up UK Americana Album 2022? by the readers of Americana UK, reached the Top 25 of most played UK Roots albums across America, charted in the Euroamericana charts, was listed as ?One To Watch? on the Alt. Country Charts in America and nominated for ?UK Country Album of the Year? at the UK Country Music Awards 2022, where Dave was first awarded ?UK Male Country Singer of the Year?.
Dave?s been treading the musical boards for 30 years, releasing his first record, ?Navigator?, under the direction of Bert Jansch. Successful tours of America soon followed. His next albums ?Comfortable Junction? and ?American Refrigerator? cemented his popularity in the UK and elevated him Stateside with his US audience delighting in asking: ?How can you speak like this and sing like that?? He was then signed by Martin Levan at Red Kite Records and his next album, ?On The Waiting List? was a commercial and critical success both in the UK and the US.
Dave?s shared the stage with artists such as Rumer, Slim Chance, Glenn Tilbrook, Ralph McTell, Billy Ray Cyrus, Al Stewart and Ian McClagan. His music is supported by BBC Radio and RTE Radio and is on numerous playlists across America. Extensive global airplay has seen him achieve Top 5 singles in the UK, America, Denmark, Norway and Japan. He?s currently touring the UK, with a new album in the planning for 2025.
Jackie McAuley & Rod Demick
Leaving Belfast in 1964, Jackie with Them, and Rod with cult garage band The Wheels. Following their separate careers, they?ve travelled the World, working with Lonnie Donegan, Screaming Lord Sutch, Gene Vincent, Taj Mahal, The Yardbirds, Joe Cocker, Dr John, Johnny Winter the Incredible String Band, David Essex, Henry Mc Cullough, The Real Thing and countless others. Jackie?s written for Status Quo and Lonnie Donegan. Rod?s provided songs for The Hollies and The Yardbirds.Jackie?s memoir ?I Sideman? and Rod?s e-book ?My Gap Life? tell the history of Skiffle, Rock and Roll, Folk, Blues and Pop.
They put on an entertaining show with songs and anecdotes from 60 years in the music business. Their new CD will be available at the show.
