Newsoundwales & Iris Prize Festival Present/Yn cyflwyno Jason Kwan & Cat Southall

?I wanted to write pop songs I deserved to hear when I was exploring my identity back in Hong Kong as a queer kid.? "Roeddwn i eisiau ysgrifennu caneuon pop roeddwn i'n haeddu eu clywed pan oeddwn i'n archwilio fy hunaniaeth yn ôl yn Hong Kong fel plentyn queer."

Jason Kwan is Independent through and through. He has performed at Glastonbury Festival, Meltdown Festival, has opened for Rina Sawayama and is a powerful voice in the LGBTQ+ and Asian communities. Originally from Hong Kong, Jason moved to the UK at the age of 14 by himself on a music scholarship. His music and brand campaigns champion queer Asian experiences, placing underrepresented narratives at the forefront of his work.

Cat Southall is a Welsh pop artist with a powerhouse voice and an electrifying stage show. A BBC Radio A-lister who has worked with Bastille and the Manic Street Preachers, Cat?s colourful blend of classic pop and disco magic will bring out the dance floor legend in you every time.

The Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Film Festival is a global celebration of LGBTQ+ stories that brings filmmakers every year from around the world to Cardiff. This year?s festival takes place 13-19 October. Iris prize.org
