Franz Von is best known as the high octane emcee of much loved afrofusion kings K.O.G. & The Zongo Brigade and jazz fusionists TC & The Groove Family.

A well established artist now introducing his electrifying hip hop afrofusion ensemble. Blending live drums, keyboard, MPC, and bass guitar with his lyrical prowess. Bringing together their diverse musical backgrounds, the 4 piece have created a dynamic high energy show.

Franz Von's blend of Jamaican dancehall Mcing, classic boom bap hip-hop rap style and his band's live energy has endeared him to audiences around the UK.

AMY TRUE
Amy True has been described as ?one of the most influential and talked about personalities in the Hip Hop, Soul, and Jazz scene,? delivering a fusion of progressive sounds alongside a steady stream of rebellious socio-political rap and soulful melodic song since the late 2000s.

Named ?One to Watch? by the MOBO Awards, with early projects Subject of My Environment and Tryna Get By, she later became a member of heavyweight rap group Caxton Press, winning Best Hip Hop Album for Shame The Devil by Wordplay Magazine in 2012. In 2017, she published her much-acclaimed debut solo album Eleven, showcasing Amy True?s unique crossover of genres, unifying soul and hip hop with features from renowned jazz musicians including Nubya Garcia, Joe Armon-Jones (Ezra Collective), Shabaka Hutchins, and Biscuit (Speakers Corner Quartet).

Stroud Subscription Rooms is the leading venue in the Stroud District. Presenting a wide range of performances and events including music and gigs of all genres, theatre, comedy, dance and spoken word. We also hold a number of community based events such as The Stroud Book Festival, Stroud Wassail, Christmas Goodwill and offer classes & workshops and a range of exhibitions throughout the year.

The venue is also available to hire for performances and events, conferences and corporate events as well as private parties and wedding receptions.

Here are the Subscription Rooms we are home to Mr Twitchett's Coffee house and bar. The café is open Monday-Saturday: 10am-3.30pm serving a range of Jacket Potatoes, Toasties and Sandwiches and snacks for you to enjoy.
