Join us for the live recording of Author's Afterword (formally The Worm Hole Podcast). Host Charlie Place will be welcoming guests Mark Stay, Claire North and Alexandra Bell. There will be an audience Q&A and time to get your books signed. (Copies of all books will be available, as will be the bar.)Fantasy author Mark Stay is a man of many talents. The writer of WW2-era The Witches of Woodville (a comedic series about a young witch whose village is constantly beset by magical trouble), Mark has also written for screen, the first of which, Robot Overloads, starred Ben Kingsley and Gillian Anderson. But it?s his idea for a prequel to Jules Verne?s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea that readers might most recognise him for ? Mark was the person who came up with the concept, and later became a script consultant, for the Amazon #1 show, Nautilus.Nautilus has done well but it was a journey to get there. Mark shopped and sold it in his first meeting and it was developed and made by Disney but when the company started dropping shows in a round of cuts, Nautilus, at this point already filmed, found itself on the chopping block. Thankfully the producers managed to sell it again and thus we can watch it. The fact it shot to first place in the charts after its release speaks for itself as to its success.A steampunk/sci-fi for all the family, Nautilus follows a young Captain Nemo and his unlikely crew of outlaws, rich escapees, and one incredibly cute dog as they steal from the colonial British the high-tech submarine Nemo worked on and use it to escape and make their fortunes.

Mark Stay will be at Author?s Afterword Live at Goldfinch on Thursday 8th May with fellow writers Claire North and Alexandra Bell.
