Adrenalin O.D is coming to the U.K. for the very first time, touring for the re-release of their seminal albums on vinyl and upon the publication of Dave Scott?s memoir, If It?s Tuesday, This Must Be Walla Walla.
With ?sister? band The Kowalskis, fronted by Kitty Kowalski and sharing AOD members Paul Richard (?Paul?s Not Home?) and Jack Steeples, who are promoting their retrospective release ?Killer Kowalski?.
This Dublin Castle show and other club dates Aug 2 ? Aug 6 will culminate in a show at the Rebellion Festival Blackpool 2025, a first for both bands. Adrenalin O.D. (A.O.D.), the notorious hardcore punk band from New Jersey, mangles fast, irreverent riffs and razor-sharp humor.
A.O.D. helped define 1980s East Coast hardcore, with pivotal albums The Wacky Hijinks of Adrenalin O.D /Humongousfungusamongus. AOD combines blistering speed with witty, sarcastic lyrics that influenced bands like NOFX, Screeching Weasel, and even Anthrax. These albums will be re-issued on vinyl in 2025 in Europe.
A.O.D. blended aggressive punk with a sense of fun and satire, such as ?A.O.D. vs. Godzilla? and ?Pizza-n-Beer.? Their energetic live shows made them a fixture of the hardcore circuit, drawing comparisons to bands like Circle Jerks and Beastie Boys. They toured extensively in the U.S., but have never toured the UK or Europe. Til now!
A.O.D?s Dave ?Scott? Schwartzman?s memoir If It?s Tuesday This Must Be Walla Walla: The Wacky History of Adrenalin O.D. should be filed under comedy. Dave will be in conversation about the book at the start of this evening?s show. Books will be on sale, questions may be popped, selfies and signings may be assigned! That?s the RNR Book Club part of the program!
Meanwhile, The Kowalskis are a fixture in the New York punk scene, blending punk rock energy with 1960s pop flair. Drawing comparisons to Blondie and the Ramones, their sound channels a nostalgic yet fresh take on punk with power-pop sensibilities. Fronted by the charismatic Kitty Kowalski, whom Kim Fowley called ?Courtney Love without the damage?, their influences pull from slick Brill Building songwriting and raw ethos of garage rock.
They?ve shared stages with Iggy Pop, The Ramones, The Dickies, The Undertones, The Muffs and more, gaining press from both mainstream press and fanzines. Their album All Hopped Up on Goofballs remains a cult classic, delivering fast-paced anthems filled with heart and attitude.
Known for their hooks and high-energy, The Kowalskis have earned audiences across the U.S., Canada and Europe. No matter whether it?s a festival or VFW basement, The Kowalskis deliver a dynamic and fun show. With a dedicated following, The Kowalskis continue to captivate audiences with their unique brand of punk-pop. The Kowalskis are releasing a 30-year retrospective this year, ?Killer Kowalski?, and touring to support the release.

The Dublin Castle is a legendary pub and music venue located 2 minutes away from Camden Town tube station. It has been run by the same family for over 28 years and features 4 live bands every night as well as a great selection of beers, ciders and wines.
There are DJs after the bands on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and a fabulous jukebox in the front bar if you’re after a more relaxed atmosphere.
But what is it that makes the Dublin Castle the long-standing centre of the indie rock universe? Is it because it’s Madness’ birthplace? Because its stage has been graced by everyone from Blur, through Coldplay, Supergrass, The Killers, The Arctic Monkeys, Billy Bragg, etc? Is it because it was no surprise to see Amy Winehouse behind the bar serving costumers? Or Suggs? (who, mind you, tended to ignore costumers and serve himself) Or is it because far from being just another Camden venue it has established itself as an indie rock institution? The answer is that it’s not only because of its musical heritage that people come to the Dublin Castle, it’s because whilst you enjoy a pint, play some tunes on the jukebox, check out the live bands, get your dancing shoes on for our DJs, chat to our friendly staff or even stage-invade a little, you’re inadvertently being part of this movement the Dublin Castle leads, this cultural legacy. Expect no castle battlements. Just pure rock and roll royalty.
