Winter Mountain is the musical project of Cornish singer-songwriter Joe Francis, whose heartfelt blend of folk, rock, and Americana has earned him a reputation as one of the UK?s most captivating contemporary troubadours. With soulful vocals, poetic songwriting, and rich musicianship, Francis creates music that feels both timeless and deeply personal.
Raised on the wild Cornish coast, Francis was inspired early by legends like Neil Young and Bob Dylan ? influences that continue to shape his emotive, melody-driven sound. He has released several acclaimed albums, including his self-titled debut and I Swear I Flew, receiving national airplay on BBC Radio 2 and praise for his lyrical depth.
Francis has recorded at iconic studios including Abbey Road in London and Sun Studios in Memphis, imbuing his work with both history and soul. A seasoned live performer, Winter Mountain has toured extensively across the UK and Europe, sharing stages with the likes of Seth Lakeman, Seal, and Cara Dillon.
Whether solo or with a band, Winter Mountain?s performances are intimate, warm, and filled with stories, humour, and unforgettable songs that speak to the heart.

By day our Cafe serves delicious home-cooked food, Fairly Traded coffee & tea and homemade cakes & pastries. All with a nod to local and ethical sourcing. We cater for Vegetarians, Vegans and dietary issues, just ask if you need anything not catered for on our menus. We also have a Delicatessen serving our own home-cooked food daily.
On Sunday to Thursday evenings we host the best acoustic music in the City, specialising in Folk, Roots and Americana.
On Friday and Saturday evenings the Cafe is available for private functions, weddings and parties, please call or email for more details.
