About Poolsbrook Country ParkVenue Type: Public Park
The site of the former Ireland Colliery. It has been transformed from dereliction into a country park and amenities area.
At 165 acres, it is Chesterfield's largest park.
Offering something for everybody, with miles of trails, extensive woodland plantations, meadows, lakes, children's play areas and wildlife habitats.
The park lies to the east of Chesterfield, between Poolsbrook and Staveley, with the main entrance being off Erin Road (S43 3WL). It is easily accessible from junction 29A of the M1 or from the A619 Chesterfield to Worksop Road.
The park is open to pedestrians 24 hours a day all year round and closes at dusk to vehicles.
The Coffee Stop Café in the pavilion, serves hot and cold drinks and food. The cafe is usually open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm with extended opening hours during school holidays.
