About Blandford Forum Corn ExchangeThe Blandford Forum Corn Exchange stands as a significant civic and cultural asset within the heart of Blandford's Georgian Market Place, a conservation area celebrated as England's most cohesive example of an 18th-century country town. Owned and managed by the Town Council, this Grade I listed venue has served as a focal point for community gatherings and public events since its Victorian inception, continuing a tradition of civic function rooted in the broader complex since 1734.
Within its walls, the main hall offers a distinct atmosphere, characterised by the architectural interest of its elliptical roof trusses overhead and the smooth expanse of its floor, inviting movement and congregation. The recently reinstated tiled dado adds a subtle texture to the space, reflecting its enduring heritage.
Practical considerations are well-addressed, with a fully equipped kitchen capable of supporting events for up to 200 guests. The venue ensures accessibility for all patrons via its main entrance, complemented by dedicated facilities, and convenient pay-and-display parking is readily available nearby.
Throughout the year, the Corn Exchange hosts a diverse programme, from lively public performances and tribute nights to community markets, private receptions, and educational talks. It remains a dynamic space, adapting to the varied needs of local residents and visitors seeking engaging experiences.
