Wind Band
The Malmesbury Concert Band comprises approximately 35 members playing woodwind, brass and percussion instruments and performs classical, popular and original wind band music appropriate to the event - in Bandstands in Municipal Parks; at Public Concerts (including our extremely successful, and popular, annual Musical Extravaganzas at the Town Hall); in providing musical support at Remembrance Day services at Malmesbury Abbey; as 'background' music at fêtes; and at similar events.
Its members are competent amateur musicians drawn from the local community and environs.
The Town Gardens were laid out as a public space in the late-19th and early-20th centuries on the site of old stone quarries. Further developments took place in the mid-20th century.
