Live Performance
Boogie-Woogie pianist/vocalist
Fresh from his sell-out “Let The Good Times Roll” Tour - Tom Seals, “quite possibly the future of Jazz/Pop”, literally has the world at his fingertips. His virtuoso solo-ing, excellent improvisation skills as well as a distinctive voice have left top industry officials hailing him as one of the UK’s finest Blues/Boogie-Woogie piano/vocalists.
The mantle of UK Piano Man has been dominated by Elton John, Jools Holland and Jamie Cullum over the past five decades and no one else has come remotely close – until now that is!
Tom Seals is 24 years old and a fresh musical powerhouse of the piano. One of the UK’s most in-demand side men, Tom has worked with/supported established artists such as Gregory Porter, Cerys Matthews, DJ Trevor Nelson, Daniel Bedingfield, Tony Christie, Lance Ellington, Kenny Thomas, Sad Cafe, Showaddywaddy, Chesney Hawkes, Steve Brookstein, Joe Stilgoe and Dame Cleo Laine.
A career highlight for him, is performing a '1 piano - 4 hands' version of "Route 66" with Jamie Cullum.
Tom had to put his degree studies at Paul McCartney’s LIPA on hold to fulfill his live and studio commitments.
Last summer saw the release of Tom's debut album, "Ace”, which soared to Number Two in the UK Blues Charts and continued to spend four months in the Top 10 of the UK Blues Charts.
Over the past year, Tom's festival appearances include; Montreux Jazz, Bestival, Boomtown, Cheltenham Jazz, Swanage Blues, Marsden Jazz, HopFest, Harpenden Blues, Dereham Blues, Ilfracombe Blues & many more. Venue appearances include; Matt & Phreds, The Cinnamon Club, Ronnie Scott's Bar, Ain't Nothin' But The Blues, The Boisdale, Piano Rouge (Krakow), Birdland Jazz Club (New York City), Orange Peel Jazz Club (Hong Kong), North Sea Jazz Club (Amsterdam) and many more.
Tom has recently joined CC Smugglers. Listen to CC Smugglers and you’ll hear the ghosts of American folk music, swing, jazz, country, ragtime and bluegrass. Listen more closely and you’ll hear contemporary touchstones such as hip hop, metal, dubstep, house and dancehall.
After their latest single "Rhythm" playlisted on BBC Radio 2 and following a summer packed with appearances at some of Europe’s top music festivals – including a performance alongside Lana Del Ray, Lionel Richie, Simply Red opening for Bruce Springsteen at the prestigious Werchter Festival in Belgium - 2018 promises a lot for CC Smugglers.
