In the late 1960's filmmaker Kenneth Anger started to make his movie 'Lucifer Rising' which was meant to be his love poem for British occultist Aleister Crowley. But the film would fall into the trap of the dark side of the Aquarian dream. The talk will discuss the making of this film and other related sixties occult movies and cultural artefacts that exploded during 1967 to 69. Along the way we meet: The Church of Satan, The Rolling Stones, Hells Angels, Jimmy Page, The Beatles, The Process Church and the Charles Manson Family among many others.
Welcome to the Six Six Sixties.
Gary Parsons is a filmmaker (Thelema Films) and a film graduate of Goldsmiths College London. His previous talks have covered Witchcraft Documentaries of the 1970s and Aleister Crowley on film.
