Ideal Marriage [Nov18]
"epic indie rock sounding like The National meets Wild Beasts"
Formed from the ashes of Lowws [Mar15], who were formed from the embers of The Sea The Sea [Nov13] these guys are seriously good. Their brand new single 'Errors' was winner of the track of month in Nightshift and while their groove-pop carries them close to Wild Beasts their vocals channel Thom Yorke at times. We also think they sound a little like the Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever. In summary one of our favourite bands on the Oxfordshire scene with a great live set. See you at the front.

Juniper Nights [Feb19]
".....Alt-J with huge guitar riffs"
We've been tracking the bands steady rise over the last few years and are super excited they are played our first packed out show of 2019. They ended 2018 releasing one of the tracks of the year with "Future Spring" and have just released their new track 'Birth Right'.
The band, named after an episode of Black Mirror, are heavily influenced by a number of British rock bands such as Radiohead and Alt-J. Their style often varies significantly between songs, from sombre and textural to grungy guitar-rock, with dark undertones being the underlying theme. Whilst their music is primarily guitar-based, they often experiment with other sounds, inspired by the works of trip hop and electronic artists such as Aphex Twin and Massive Attack.

31 Hours [Mar18]
" ....like Radiohead playing early Foals"
31hours formed in 2012 in Oxford, founded by Jo & Jake. They got early praise for being sonically eclectic, their tunes ranging from psych-infused space rock to syncopated afro-pop with distant relations to fellow Oxford acts, Radiohead & Foals. 2016 was a successful year for the band, having released their second EP 'Rockpools' -which received airplay on both BBC Introducing and BBC Radio 6- and later headlining O2 Academy. Their debut album 'Tell Me What You See' was released in 2017 to much acclaim and is highly recommended. Check out favourite tunes 'Royal Box' and 'Castile' which both made our top 25 tracks of the year.
