Oysters 3 are an offshoot of folk-rock outfit Oysterband, and consists of the three founding members, Ian Telfer, John Jones and Alan Prosser. Having started off as a Ceilidh band in the late 70s called Fiddler's Dram, the group effected a name change and began experimenting with radical arrangements of traditional songs, determined that traditional music should not just be a branch of the heritage music industry. Since then they have recorded numerous albums, toured internationally, won 5 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, and collaborated with the likes of June Tabor. They insist they are still full of ideas, and it seems that there is still much more to come from these prolific musicians.
